Forged Materials

Forging transforms cast steel into material with significantly improved mechanical and structural properties. Through controlled open die press forging, we refine the grain structure, reduce internal discontinuities and enhance the strength, toughness and fatigue resistance of the steel compared to as-cast material.

At GSAL, forging is fully integrated with our steelmaking operations. Because we control both the upstream melting process and downstream forging operations, we can maintain tighter control over chemistry, temperature, reduction ratios and final product quality.

Our forged steel products are manufactured for demanding applications across forging, tooling, heavy engineering, oil & gas, power, mining and industrial equipment sectors.

Forged Product Forms

  • Forged round bars and billets for machining and further processing
  • Forged blocks and slabs for dies, tooling, and heavy sections
  • Forged discs and rings for flanges, hubs, and rotating components
  • Custom open die forgings as per customer drawings and specifications
  • Forge-ready material for downstream machining and engineering applications
